ABOUT CHARIS SCHOOL

CHARIS SCHOOL of Marikina City is a non-stock, non-profit and non-sectarian Christian institution of learning duly registered and recognized under the law of the Philippines. It was established by Ms. Raquel D. Baclayon and her family in 1997. Inspired by the admonition of the Lord in Proverbs 22:6 which says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it,” the school merges Biblical principles on life and faith with current knowledge to nurture the child’s three-dimensional being:his body, mind and spirit. Charis School, as its name suggests, is a caring and gracious community. It is in this environment that education geared towards uprightness and achievement will take place.
Charis School seeks to become a leading provider of quality Christian education for preschool, grade school and high school. It shall be known primarily for its caring and gracious graduates who will stand as responsible citizens that would make up a progressive Philippines. With its highly competent faculty, academic advisers and Administration, the school will continue to offer a high standard educational program that is developmentally appropriate and integrates Biblical truth. Its teachers are a select group of educators who love God, are competent and qualified in their profession, and demonstrate a love for
teaching and nurturing young children.
Our Philosophy

Charis School is committed to promote high quality, developmentally-appropriate, biblically-integrated instruction to Preschool, Grade School and High School students. Its educational program is based on the principle that a child is a three-dimensional individual, with body, mind and spirit that should be developed to the optimum level.
Our History

The school started in 1976 when its founder, Raquel Delute Baclayon, taught preschool education to children inside the garage of her home in Marikina City, Philippines teaching 4 to 7 year-olds.
In 1991, she was invited to head a church-based Christian school as Principal until she built her own school in 1997 with help from her family.
